I’m 40, soon to be 41 and needed a big change in my life. I’m a programmer and been living a pretty sedentary lifestyle for a long time, not eating right, and constantly talking about getting active but never actually doing it. The last few years I also started struggling with anxiety and has gotten much worse within the last 2 years.
I eventually said “fuck this”, in a positive way though, and started taking steps to change things in my life. I changed my diet, for the most part, started walking a lot more, got away from the computer much more, got rid of all social media, and then got myself to try CrossFit. It’s already been a way better choice than joining a gym and going solo with no real instruction, encouragement, and motivation.
Getting my blood pumping and struggling to get through the workouts has been huge so far. I get my ass kicked but leave feeling really good and clear headed. The group environment keeps me motivated to keep pushing when I start hitting a wall. I already feel myself getting stronger and have more stamina. I still have a lot more to learn and build towards and really looking forward to continuing down this awesome road!
