CrossFit Bensalem – How long have you been coming to CrossFit Bensalem and what got you started? –

Mike Murphy – I have been coming to CrossFit Bensalem since August of 2014. I was doing CrossFit for a bit back when I lived in NJ so knew I wanted to get back into when I moved to Bensalem. My wife mentioned that there was a CrossFit opening in Bensalem so I joined right away.

CFB – What did you think after your first WOD?

MM – My first thought after was “what just happened?”. After the pain was over and my body recovered, I wanted to go back the next day.

CFB – Do you have a favorite song to workout to? –

MM – Favorite song is tough. I think anything by Skrillex will always help me through a workout.

CFB – What is your favorite WOD or CrossFit movement?

MM –  My favorite CrossFit movement has to be the Snatch. It is definitely one of the more complex movements and not one of my favorites. However, when you PR it or have it in a workout, you feel awesome after!

CFB – What has CrossFit changed about your life?

MM – CrossFit has given me the ability to make friends with people who I probably would not have met by going to a normal gym. Especially when I moved to Bensalem, it was awesome to build friendships with great people in a new area.

CFB – What do you like to do when you’re not in the gym?

MM – When I am not in the gym at 6:30am, I am working on building my real estate business. After I get home from the gym every morning, I am right back to answering emails, making phone calls, and researching homes for clients.

CFB – Something we might not know about you?

MM –  Soccer is by far my favorite sport with Manchester United being my favorite team.

CFB – What is your 6 month goal?

MM – Right now I have two 6 month goals. First one being getting a muscle up and the second being handstand push ups.

CFB – What would you say to someone who is new or considering starting CrossFit?

MM– If you are new and considering CrossFit, do not be afraid to get started. Everyone starts at different levels but everyone wants to see you succeed!
